ESPN.com is doing previews of each team before training camp begins, and the Patriots preview came out today.

Their “Three Burning Questions” are:

• How improved is the receiving corps?
• Is the defensive backfield good enough?
• Can Maroney replace Dillon’s production?

I agree that these are the important questions.  I think the receiving corps has been upgraded by an incredible amount and should make the offense really exciting.  As for the defensive backfield, Asante Samuel’s possible holdout will have a big effect, and the health of Rodney Harrison and Eugene Wilson is also important.  The battle between first round pick Brandon Meriweather and Wilson, Harrison, Artrell Hawkins and James Sanders will be an interesting one.  Maroney needs to be fully healthy and be able to deliver as the main RB.
